Tarence Wheeler Feeds Over 5000 Families - All Star Turkey Give-Away 2017


November 21, 20017, River Rouge, MI — Quietly nestled on the edge of Southwest Detroit, River Rouge High School became the site of unity. Since '99, Tarence Wheeler, CEO and Founder at The Wheeler Group, has worked to serve the less fortunate and those in need. The All Star Turkey Give-Away started with only 200 turkeys, and 19 years later is able to support over 5,000 families with meals during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Wheeler, who is a native of the Downriver Detroit area, in conjunction with, "Hometown Hero" Big Sean and the Sean Anderson Foundation, have collaborated for the past five years to provide meals for the community.

Each year, the event hosts an All-Star lineup of athletes, entertainers, politicians, and distinguished guests.

This years guests included former Detroit Pistons great Derrick Coleman and Earl "The Twirl" Cureton, NBA Hall of Famer Gary "The Glove" Payton, NBA legend and former Detroit Mayor Dave Bing, Detroit businessman and former Lions receiver Herman Moore, newly signed Roc-a-fella Records recording artist Neisha Neshae, the Honorable Judge Strong, Award winning Channel-4 meteorologist Andrew Humphrey, Channel-7 meteorologist Denise Isaac, and many more.

Many students, sponsors, businesses, came together to make a true difference in the community.
